Preparation and Properties of PET-PEG-SiO2 Co-polymerized Hybrid Nanoblocks

Abstract：Poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG) was grafted onto the surface of pre-activated nanoSiO2 to obtain PEG-SiO2 composites.At the same time,low molecular weight poly(ethylene terephthalate)(LMPET) was obtained through esterification exchange of dimethyl terephthalate(DMT) and ethylene glycol(EG).The LMPET-PEG-SiO2 hybrid nanoblocks were prepared through the copolymerization of PEG-SiO2 and LMPET.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR) results proved that LMPET was successfully linked onto SiO2 surface through PEG.The DSC data exhibited that the small changed of the thermal properties of LMPET occurred after hybrid copolymerization,i.e.4℃ decreased of Tmc and 3℃ decreased of Tm.
