Wu Miaosheng, Zhou Zhulin. Mechanism Analysis of Fracture Toughness for Fiber Reinforced Composites[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(8): 1-3.

The fracture toughness of composite materials is dissimilar with the fracture toughness of homogeneousisotropic materials. The fracture toughness of fiber reinforced composites does not consistent with the mixturelaw of general and physical properties. This paper analyzes the effects of matrix properties, interface, fiberproperties and pettern direcion on fracture toughness.

This paper deals mainly with the basis of the composite properties (CAADCP).According to the composite laminate theory and failure criteria,CAADCP can be used for stress and strain analysis of compositelaminates under certain loading. This software system can also be applied to the design of composite laminatemeeting specific requirements.

Chen Meiying, Liu Zhijing. Effect of Environment Frequency and Mode of Loading Medium on Fatigue Behavior of 35NCD16 Steel[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(8): 15-18.

Effect of environment frequency and mode of loading medium on fatigue behavior of 35NCD16 steel has been investigated in this paper. The fracture surface of specimen was observed by means of SEM.It was shown that the fatique strength in 3.5% NaCl equeous solution only is 30% of in air while fatique life is 1×106.Environment and frequency has an effect to fatigue strength.Corresion fatigue cracks often initiate at the area of corresion pits, and th6 mechanism of effective factor was also discussed.

The austenite recrystallization temperature of 300M, an ultrahigh-strength steel used for landing gear of airplane, has been determined by means of high-temperature metalloscope and heat-treatment.The results show that the austenite recrystallization of 300M steel appears within a range of temperature, which is affected by the rate of re-heating and prior structure of steel. The heat-treatment processes are suggested to eliminate the coared macro-grain of 300M steel in terms of the experimental results.

Huang Chun, Chen Guiyun, Wang Guozhi, Zhang Yongchang. Effect of Powder Size on the Structure and Properties of a Rapidly Solidified Al-8.32Fe-3.4Ce Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(8): 26-29.

The morphology and microstructure of Al-8.32Fe-3.4Ce alloy powders with different particulate size is observed by optical and SEM. The mechanical properties of Al-Fe-Ce alloy made from different particle size have been determined by using room temperature tensile test, elevated temperature tensile test and high temperature exposure test. The experimentul results show that a room temperature tensile strength of 560MPa has been achieved in as-extruded samples made from fine powders. However, the tensile strength of as-extruded samples made trom fine coarse powders only shows 450MPa. The room temperature tensile strength of two kinds of samples subjected high temperature exposure at 315℃ also shows large difference. This obviously indicated the tremendous Influence of powder size on the structure and mechanical propertiesof Al-Fe-Ce alloy.

Li Yongzuo. Exact Determination of Lattice Constants by the Kossel Diffraction Technique[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(8): 34-36,29.

In the paper the experiments and analyse methods of exact determination of lattice constants of monocrystal by the Kossel transmission diffraction technique in the JXA-3A type EPMA instrument are introduced.By this technique, lattice constants of the annealed pure nickel and pure iron film specimens with large grains have been exactly determined, and the satisfied results have been obtained. For the iron specimen, the lattice constants determined are as follows: a±σ=0. 286608±0.000022nm,△n/a=1.54×10-4.

Bai Shucheng, Qu jianzhi. The Development of Airship Envelope Materials[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(8): 44-49.

The advanced availability of an airship is strongly related with the performances of the envelope marerials (EM) used. The performances of the EM mainly include mechanical properties, permeability, handing strength, efficiency of seams, environment resistance and light-weight,etc.The modern industry development be made a long-step advancement for improving the performances of airship EM.And the corresponding materials structure forms have a developing history from various kinds of rubber-coating cloth to the latest film-weave laminate composite materials. The efficient test methods for evaluating EM ate gradually matured. But there are still some defects in the present EM. All above mentioned contents are reviewed or discussed in the paper.
