    The effects of load and wear time on the wear characteristics of magnesium alloy AZ31. were investigated in the dry sliding condition in the load range of 25N to 100N.Micrograph of worn surfaces was analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and the wear behavior was discussed.The results indicated that the wear mass loss increased linearly with increasing the wear time in all applied load.The wear mass loss increased rapidly with increasing load from 25N to 100N.It was shown that the wear behavior was changed from oxidation wear,abrasive wear to delamination wear with the load.

    Si3N4-Si2N2O composites were prepared with in-situ liquid pressureless sintering process using Y2O3 and Al2O3 powders as sintering additives.The Si2N2O phase was obtained by in-situ reaction of SiO2+Si3N4→2Si2N2O.The green body was fabricated by gel-casting process,and then sintered by 1780℃ for 2h.The sintered body was comprised by the plate Si2N2O and rod β-Si3N4 grains.Compared to the Si3N4 ceramic,Si2N2O ceramic possessed superior oxidation resistance,low elastic modulus,low thermal coefficient and low the strength.Due to the composites combined desirable properties of Si2N2O and Si3N4,the thermal shock resistance was improved greatly.The temperature of thermal shock could reach 1200℃.

    The valence electron structures of Mg-Al-Nd solid solution phase,sencond phase Al2Nd and Al3Nd were calculated based on the Empirical Electron Theory of solids and molecules(EET),and the relationship between valence electron structures and the alloy solid solution strengthen,sencond phase strengthen,high temperature stability,grain refinement was studied.The valence electron pairs on the strongest bond nA value and covalent electron density ρVC value of Mg-Al-Nd were bigger than that of α-Mg,which indicated the solid solution of Nd element was advantageous to the substrate intensity enhancement;The strongest bond of Al2Nd(nA=0.44396) and Al3Nd(nA=0.38949) were far bigger than that of substrate α-Mg(nA=0.11199),therefore,Al2Nd enormously hinden the dislocation movement,enhanced the alloy intensity;Compared the FV value of γ-Mg17Al12(FVγ-Mg17Al12=44.22),the total bond-forming ability in unit volume FV value of Al2Nd and Al3Nd respectively was 145.91. and 242.35,which showed that their high temperature stability was better and their existence was advantageous to improves the high temperature performance of Mg-Al alloy;Nd enhanced bonding strength of atoms neighbored to it in the liquid state alloy,increased the substrate’s nucleation rate,slowed down the crystal growth speed,then refined the grain size,enhanced the mechanics performance.

    Carbon nanotubes capsulated with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(simplified as PEDOT/CNTs) nanocomposite fibrils synthesized in different solvent media were reported and characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy and standard four-probe method.The results showed that PEDOT/CNTs nanocomposite fibrils with ideal morphology can be manufactured with acetonitrile as reaction medium as compared with water or ethanol as reaction medium.By means of characterizing conductivity of the as synthesized nanocomposite fibrils,it is demonstrated that nanocomposite fibrils with highly improved conductivity can be created by means of carbon nanotubes as in situ synthesis template.

    The effect of dehydrogenation treatment on fatigue property of 1Cr15Ni4Mo3N steel forgings was investigated.1Cr15Ni4Mo3N steel forgings can absorb hydrogen from the atmosphere of a gas or oil stove,and the fatigue property of 1Cr15Ni4Mo3N steel forgings was deteriorated remarkably.The results showed that the dehydrogenation treatment of 520℃×8h performed before quenching enable the fatigue property of 1Cr15Ni4Mo3N steel forgings recover to normal level.

    The microstructure and properties of Nb-Ti microallyed X60 pipeline steel were measured and analyzed.The results showed that,compared with the same products yielded by traditional rolling process,the anisotropies of the Nb-Ti microallyed X60 pipeline steel were small.And differences of the tensile strength and yield strength between transverse and longitudinal were less than 15MPa.The pipeline steel had excellent fracture toughness and resistance to sulfide stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen induced cracking.The microstructure of weld seam and heat affected zone of high-frequency-welded pipe was Polygonal Ferrite(PF) and Pearlite(P).The average values of Charpy impact energy reached to 109J at 20℃.And the weld seam was not sensitive to groove corrosion.

    SHAO Hong-hong, JIANG Xiao-yan, ZHANG Dao-jun. Ultrasonic Fatigue Lives of 40CrNiMoA Steel with Different Microstructures[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 2008, 0(5): 24-28.

    Fatigue lives of 40CrNiMoA steel with different microstructures were studied by the ultrasonic fatigue technique at 20kHz and R=-1.The results showed that the ultrasonic fatigue life of the specimen with microstructure of combined high strength and good toughness had higher fatigue life under ultrasonic vibration.Different microstructure of 40CrNiMoA had two types of S-N curves,stepwise and continually decreasing curves,and the specimen would be failing over 107 stress cycles.SEM fractograph of the fatigue specimens showed that,under ultrasonic vibration conditions,fatigue crack initiated at the surface of the specimens.The fracture mechanism of the super high cycle fatigue was discussed.

    Bi-Sb semiconductor alloys were excellent thermoelectric and magnetic material and important for the pieces of solid-state refrigeration device,thermoelectric generator,electrical and magnetic materials.Electrochemical deposition thin film technique was simple and low cost.The process of producing Bi2Sb3Lax alloy thin film under electrodepositional in nonaqueous system was studied.It did research the ratio of solution and the electrodeposition time and the current strength to the alloy thin film form.Then finally figure out the best conditions for electrodeposition.The EDS analysis showed that the Bi-Sb alloy film’s ratio was 2:3.The alloy film was proved the surface was uniform formation by SEM text.XRD proved the alloy film was made up of BiSbLa crystal.Electricity property of Bi2Sb3Lax alloy film’s La loading was explored.

    HA/YSZ bioactive gradient coatings were prepared on Ti6Al4V substrates by radio frequency magnetron sputtering.The surface and interface morphologies,phase composition and chemical structure of these gradient coatings were characterized by SEM,EDS,and XRD.The results showed that the amorphous coating deposited by RF magnetron sputter can be transferred into the crystalline structure and restored OH-1. group by post-annealing.The surface morphology of gradient coatings was coarse and uneven with well-distributed concaves which will greatly increase the micro-surface area of coating.Furthermore,the surface of HA/YSZ gradient coating was converted into needle like crystals whose structure and composition were similar to that of natural bone by post-annealing treatment.There isn’t any pore or crackle on the coating/substrate interface.The diffusion distribution of elements(such as Ti,Ca,P and Zr) in interfacial field indicated that there was a diffusion layer between HA/YSZ gradient coating and Ti6Al4V substrate.The thickness of the diffusion layer was about 5.0μm.Interfacial tensile test showed that the bonding strength was 60.5MPa.

    Lead-free piezoelectric ceramics,Bi0.5(Na0.90-xKxLi0.10)0.5TiO3-KNbO3 were fabricated by conventional electric ceramics processes,and the microstructure,dielectric,piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties of the ceramics were investigated.X-ray diffraction patterns showed that Bi0.5(Na0.90-xKxLi0.10)0.5TiO3-KNbO3 can form a solid solution during sintering.With the addition of KNbO3,the dielectric,piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties of the ceramics strongly depended on the amount of K+.At room temperature,the ceramics exhibited good performances with piezoelectric constant d33=195 pC/N,electromechanical coupling factor kp=31.9%,remanent polarization Pr=34.8μC/cm2,and coercive field Ec=3.2 kV/mm,respectively.

    Cationic photo-polymerization systems of epoxy resin E-51. with photoinitiator CD-1012 and photosensitizer ITX were designed for rigidizable inflatable structures.Photo-differential scanning calorimetry(photo-DSC) was used to investigate the photo-curing kinetics for the epoxy resin systems.The influences of mass ratio of E-51. and CD-1012,light intensity and temperature on photo-curing kinetics of resin systems were discussed.The activation energies of photopolymerization of CD-1012/E-51. system and ITX/CD-1012/ E-51. system had been calculated using autocatalytic kinetics model and Arrhenius formulation.The results indicated that ITX could accelerate polymerization of the epoxy resin systems.

    Alumina coatings were prepared by Air Plasma Spray(APS) and Low Pressure Plasma Spray(LPPS) process using two pure alumina powders as feedstock respectively.The phases and microstructures for both coatings were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy,and the fracture toughness and microhardness for both coatings was also investigated.The relationship between properties and coating process were analyzed.The results showed that the fracture toughness and density of the LPPS alumina coating excelled than that of APS pure alumina coating.

    NiCoCrAlYSi/NiCoCrAlY gradient coatings were deposited on Ni3Al based single crystal alloy IC6SX by HVOF method,and the oxidation resistance of the coated alloy at 1100℃ were investigated.The microstructure of the samples before and after oxidation were examined by SEM and XRD.The results showed that double layers oxidation scales compactly formed on the surface of the coatings.The inner layer was mainly composed of Al2O3.The outer layer was composed by NiAl2O4 and a small amount of Cr2O3.The diffusion and oxidation of Mo were prevented effectively by coatings,which improved the oxidation of the alloy IC6SX significantly.

    Ti17 alloy surface were strengthened by electric spark systems with 92WC-Co hard-alloy electrode in the medium of silicon oil and argon respectively under constant parameters.The microstructure,phase constituent,hardness distributing and wear-resisting property of strengthening layer in the Ti17 surface were analyzed and contrasted to Ti17 substrate by using of scanning electron microscopic,X-ray diffractometer,glow discharge optical emission spectrometer,microhardness tester and MM200 abrasion tester respectively.The surface of abrasion samples was observed and analyzed.The results showed that the strengthening layer depth under microscope was about 5μm,its microhardness was up to 640 in argon and 480 in silicon oil respectively,but it’s strengthening layer depth derived by the distribution graphs of microhardness was about 50μm and 100μm respectively.The strengthening layer gained in the medium of argon contained W2C,Ti,TiC phase primarily and a small quantity of MoC and CoTi,but the strengthening layer formed in the medium of silicon oil consisted of phases of Ti2O,Ti2N,Ti3SiC2 and a small quantity of TiC and TiN0.7C0.3.The loss mass by abrasion of the non-strengthening samples was about 2 times of strengthening samples in argon and 22 times of strengthening samples in silicon oil respectively.The abrasion mechanism of substrates sample was oxidation abrasion and adhesion abrasion,but abrasion reason of layer strengthened by electric spark equipment with 92WC-Co electrode may concern with that desquamation of surface strengthening layer became granules for abrasion wear.

    Electroless composite coating of(Ni-P)-SiC nano particles on PET fabric was operated.The(Ni-P)-SiC-coated fabric was investigated by means of SEM,EDS,XRD and TG.The electromagnetic shielding performance and abrasion resistance were also measured.The results showed that the decomposition temperature of electroless composite coating on PET fabric was lower than that of PET fabric.The face-centred cube crystal structure of Ni-P coating was formed due to the incorporation of SiC.The Shielding Effectiveness(SE) was influenced by the structure,uniformity and density of metal when the mass increasing rate and metal element did not change.The abrasion resistance of Ni-P-SiC-coated fabric was decreased because of the incorporating of SiC nano particles.

    The Pb doped titanium dioxides were modified with nitrogen to enhance its photo-catalysis activity of TiO2.The experimental results showed that TiO2 modified with N-0.5% Pb(mass fraction) could degrade aqueous methyl orange(20mg/L) within 35min.Meanwhile,particles’ appearances were characterized by XPS,XRD,SEM and UV-VIS,and discussed the mechanism for the enhancement of photo-catalysis activity: titanium dioxides modified with N-Pb had a synergistic effect that could decrease the energy of band gap and increase the visible absorption capacity of samples.

    Self-sealing ability of carbon fiber reinforced ceramic composite can enhance it’s anti-oxidation property,which was obtained by imitating the self-sealing ability of creatures.Based on the summary of latest research results,the mechanism of self-sealing was introduced in brief.The main factors influencing the effect were summarized.The ingredients and performances of three types of self-sealing cells were described mainly,and the future development would be focused on the new self-sealing material that could protect composite from room temperature to higher temperature,and three kinds of self-sealing cells were compounded to get higher protection temperatures.
