Effect of Boron in Ni3Al-base Alloy IC-6

Abstract

The effect of boron on castability and stress-rupture property of directionally solidified Ni3Al-base alloy IC-6 was investigated. The results shown that proper increasing of boron addition can reduce amount of microporosity and crack tendency of the alloy. Because of the over increase of boron addition, the strip boride was precipitated and the stress-rupture life was shortened at high temperture.
