Effects of Ti Metamorphic Disposal on Solidification Structure of Fe-Ni Base Invar Expansion Alloy

Abstract:Metamorphic disposal method and SEM graphic analysis were applied to evaluate the effect of Ti metamorphic disposal on solidification structure of Fe-Ni base invar expansion alloy.The results show that great amount of high-melting compounds(Ti2O3)with the size of 2μm are formed in the Fe-Ni base invar expansion alloy after Ti metamorphic disposal.The Ti2O3 acts as the heterogeneous nucleation,so the solidification structure of the alloy is refined from complete dendrite grain to most equiaxed grain.TiN,TiC,Ti(NC),Ti2O3 which take effect of preventing the growth of crystal grain are distributed in interface of equiaxed grain.
