    Qin Shiyu. A View|Application of 18Mn2CrMoBA (GC-11) Steel in|Aircraft F-7M[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1988, 0(4): 14-16.

A survey of 18Mn2CrMoB|A (GC-11) steel application in aircraft F-7M has been made. The analysis of chemical constituent and mechanical properties, comparision of its behaviour with those of 30CrMnSi|A steel and valuation of its trial application in aircraft F-7M are listed. The results and analysis shows a prospect of futher extended application of GC-11steel.

Ning Yongzhao, Liu Jiachen. A Study on the Relationship between Tensile Strength and Brinell Hardness for 30CrMnSiNi2A Ultra High Strength Steel[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1988, 0(4): 17-19.

Tungsten carbide ball was used to measure the Brinell hardness of ultra high strength steel 30CrMnSiNi2A , and the relationship between tensile strength and Brinell hardness value of the steel has been studied in this investigation. The experimental data were fittiedby polynomial using a computer and the relationship between a, and HBW has been obtained. Therefore the problem to measure the Brinell hardness of the ultra high strength steel, which is difficult to be accurately determined is solved.

Chen Rong, Zhang Guoding, Wu Renjie. Study on the Impact and Tensile Property of C/Al Composites[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1988, 0(4): 22-24.

The impact property and tensile strength of C/Al composites with different fiber volume percent and different interface bonding states have been studied. It is found that the impact energy absorbed and tensile strength of composite have close related with the interface bonding states and fiber volume percent. The suitable interface bonding state can improve not only the tensile strength but the impact energy absorbed as well.

Tung Jinrong. Investigation of "Spot defect" in Spot weld nuggets for GC-19 Steel Sheet[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1988, 0(4): 25-29.

The causes and nature of the spotinclusions' in resistance spot weld nuggets for a ultrahigh strength steel GC-19 used in intermidiate tempera ure range, have been investi gated. The results indicated that the weld defect can be eliminated by a pre-weld cleaning method suitable for GC-19 sheet surface.

Feng Weixi. The Requirements of Airworthiness on Material and Special Processing[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1988, 0(4): 31-32,21.

Airworthiness is a very important point in design and production of civil aircrafts, however the requirements of airworthiness on material and special processing have not been reported in detail so far. The author of this paper intended to give a brief explanation about the requirements of airworthiness on materials and special processing. An introduction on another important airworthiness problem---the approval and control of supplier---has also been involved in this paper.

The exam ination of fracture surface of the broken part, the micro structure observation and the chemical analysis cf materials, and simulation test's have been carried out in this investigation. It is concluded that the gear damage started with fatigue and it was finally broken by abnormal large stress.

Lin Dunyi. Environment Design and Material Selection for Aircraft Cabin Transparency——A Discussion on Service Performance of Two Transparent Plastics[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1988, 0(4): 39-42.

The physical and chemical characteristics of copolymerized transparent acrylic plastic sheet (YB-4) and non-plasticizer PVB interlayer were analysed. From the point of view of service condition, the reasonableness, that both transparent plastics are selected for aircraft cabin transparency or front windshield, was discussed.
