    V. N. Bulmanis, G. M. Gunyaev, V. V. Krivonos. In-Service Durability Prediction of Structural Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastics[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1992, 0(3): 2-3.

Life-time of carbon composite containing thermosetting matrices under long-term loading and environmental effects is determined mainly by the sum of reversible and unreversible changes of in-service properties. The mathematical prediction model variant of the carbon composite behavior under environmental conditions and static loading at the in-service load level was suggested. This model was used for studying of a crossply epoxy phenolic carbon composite.A satisfactory argreement of experimental and predicted results was obtained.

Chen Xiangbao. Stability of Conductivity of Polypyrrole and its Composites[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1992, 0(3): 4-6,16.

The stability of electrical conductivity of the polypyrrole and its composites is investigated. It is observed that the decrease of electrical conductivity of the polypyrrole is caused by a chemically oxidative degradation, which follows a first-order reaction.Annealing studies show that the stability of electrical conductivity of the composite is related to the thermal expansion of the polymers and the thermo-mechanical stability of the polymer matrix. The decrease of electrical conductivity of the composite is attributed to the interruption of percolation path.

Zhong Tianfang, Zhang Rongwu. Recrystallization and Performance of Accumulated Deformation of Toughned GH4169 Thin Forgings Hummered[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1992, 0(3): 7-12.

The paper has reported that the behaviours of kenetic recrystallization in thin forgings hammered. The necessary times of atoms diffusion for kenetic recrystallization nucleation and growth have been calculated on the bases of vacancy consistence and their diffusion. The investigation for the corresponding relationship of the microstructure and notch stress-rupture tendency under the conditions of direct age DA and solid solution plus age NT shows that the notch stress-rupture tendency can be improved significantly by obtaining the homogeneous microstructures and morphology of fine grain 6 phase.

Zhang Ruirong, Lin Xiangfeng. Fffect of Rare Earth Elements on the Structure and Properties of Boronaluminizing Layer with Pasty Agent for Steels[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1992, 0(3): 13-16.

The effect of rare earth elements on the structure and properties of the boronaluminizing layer with pasty agent for steels was studied. The rusult shows that the rare earth elements can promote the formation of the phase FeB,increase the thickness of the boronaluminizing layer and the diffusing zone under the conditions of test. Moreover, the rare earth elements are the micro-alloying elements, they can improve the brit-tleness of boronaluminizing layer, while they increase the wear resistance of boronaluminizing layer greatly.

The γ' particle coarsening in the Nimonic 91 has been studied after heat-treatment at 2 different temperatures and for times up to 5832 hours. For moderate times in all cases the mean γ' dimension increased linearly with the cube root of time. However,at high values of time some deviations from this behaviour were observed.

The axial tension and flexural fatigue behavour of 300M Ultra-high-strength steel was examined by using lugs, bolts and circular tubes at room temperature in the air medium. On fatigue behaviour effect of surface integrity, various stress ratio R,heat treatment and load spectra was discussed, and the difference of fatigue property between the domestic materials and the American materials was studied in this paper.

The effect of heat treating parameters such as solution temperature, cooling rate, ageing temperature and time on the γ' size and grain size,γ' morphology, amount of γ' and carbide was described in this paper. The relationship between heat treating parameters and mechanical properties was studied, and the microstructure of fracture was observed also.

Zhong Weichang. Acoustic Vibration Methods for Non-Destructive Testing of Material's Strength and their Testing Mechanism[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1992, 0(3): 37-40.

This paper introduces briefly several types of acoustic vibration methods for NDT of material's strength. It explains that all physical quantities examined by these metods are in fact the Young's modulus of material. It quotes the experimental rusult of silicone rubber to verify this idea, and it further deduces that for material appearing "proportional" or "monotonic" relationship between σb and E,it is available to non-destructively test its strength by acoustic vibration methods (or other techniques for testing E).

The determination of percentages of FeO and Fe2O3 in chlorite is a basical work in chlorite classification, diagenesis environment interpretation and formation damage investigation.A working curve technique for determining the percentages of FeO and Fe2O3 in chlorite with electron-probe microanalyzer (EPMA) has been developed in this paper. The experiments conducted in the paper show that the experimental conditions have a great influence on the results.15kV of accelerating voltage,20nA of exciting current and 20μm of beam size should be selected for the samples in which the total iron content is over 10%.And 10kV,100nA and 20μm should be selected for the samples in which the total iron content is less than 10%.The comparisons with the results of chemical analysis indicate that with the suitable working curves developed under different conditions, the relative errors of both FeO and Fe2O3 for two kinds of samples are all less shan 7%.

This article analyses the material quality, fracture and processing technology of main beam which was cracked in advance during fracture test. The consideration is that the major reason for crack is not the material quality, but the rough processing and the low quality of original fatigue.
