Liu Zhien, Xue Zhiyun, Du Xijiang, Yuan Jianjun. Study of Coating Films on Carbon Fibre[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(5): 1-4.

SiO2 and Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 (LAS) films were coated on pretreated carbon fibre by sol-gel process.Theeffect of different treatment of fibre surface and properties of coating solution on the wetting of solutionand fibre were studied. The fibre surface coated with oxide film was observed by means of SEM.It isshown that the binding between oxide film and carbon fibre iS excellent. The thickness of coated film isabout ≤1μm.The bending strength and toughness of Las/Gf composite prepared by sol-gel process are 615MPa and 18.5MPa·m1/2 respectively.

Xie Guohua. The Study of the Compatibility of Low Infrared Emitting Camouflage with Microwave Absorptive Material[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(5): 5-7.

The competibility of low infrared emitting camouflage coating with microwave absorptive material wasinvestigated.Test results show that the resulting material has both properties stated above after low infraredemitting coating is coated on the surface of microwave absorptive material in a certain thickness range. Microwave absorptivity of the material is hardly changed. The resonant peak moves to lower frequency as thethickness of low infrared emitting coating increases. This problem can be resolved through controlling thethickness of the material. On the other hand, the original infrared emissivity can be ensured.

Tao Chunhu, T. MAGNIN. Effect of an Oxide Layer on the Cyclic Behaviour in a 316L Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(5): 8-9,22.

The effect of an oxide layer on the damage mechanism in the cyclic plasticity is analysed. It takes into account tne influence of the surface film on the fatigue behaviour in a 316L alloy under air and vacuumand the interaction of an edge dislocation of the substrate with a coated surface. The determination of theinteraction force can introduce a new explanation of the reversibility of the effect of vacuum and air on thecyclic stress of the same specimen alternatively deformed in each environment, by means of the previousconcept of image-force.

Zeng Songyan, Zhang Hu, Li Qingchun. The Effect of Modification of Sr on the Formation of Twins in Eutectic Si of Al-Si Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(5): 13-15.

The growth characteristic of eutectic Si of Al-Li allcy has been investigated through TEM.It has been shown that the density of eutectic Si is higher and that there is usually existed more than two {11l} twins. The growth rate has a great effect on the density and the characteristic of twins. The reason has also been analyzed in this paper.

He Shukui, Wang Guangsheng, Wang Shinan. An Investigation of Hydrogen Diffusion in Austenizing Process of Nitrogen-based Protective Atmosphere[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(5): 20-22.

In this work, the hydrogen diffusion between the high-strength steel specimen and nitrogen-based protective atmosphere (N2-C2H5OH) in the austenizing process is studied. Both experiments and calculations re-veal that the hydrogen diffuses from the specimen to the atmosphere in the austenising process.

Chen Da. The Current Status and the Future of Single-Crystal-Like TiAl Ordered Intermetallics[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(5): 42-44.

This paper reviews the current development of the single-crystal-like TiAl ordered intermetallics, about which a great improvement for the ductility has been achieved recently. The physical metallurgy, mechanical properties, current rasearch status and the potential for developing this kind of alloys as a new typeof high temperature structural materials are mainly introduced.
