Jiang Jixiang, Zhao Xun, Liao Baixia, Feng Qingping. Investigation on the Performance of AlN Coating in C/Al Composites[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(9): 15-16,14.

Thin AIN layer was coated on carbon fibre by means of dipping in polymeric precursor solution followed by pyrolysis.C/A1 and C(AIN)/A1 composites were manufactured by squeeze casting. The effect of the AIN coating on the composites was studied and the results show that the AIN coating can effectively improvethe compatibility between the fibre and Al matrix and the high temperature stability of the C(AIN)/Al composites.

Bai Shucheng, Qu Jianzhi. The Applications of Laminate Envelope Materials in FK4 Airship[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(9): 17-19,27.

The beneficial application efficiency that the laminate materials played in the fabrication process andservices of FK4 airship are confirmed. The defects that revealed during the hull manufacturing process and FK4 airship application are analyzed. The technological routes overcoming the defects are suggdsted and the noticeable research aspects are stretched.

Zhao Xingzhong, Wu Xingfang, Ke Jun. Formation Condition and Transition Behavior of Metastable R’ Phase in TiNi Shape Memory Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(9): 20-22.

Formation condition and transition behavior of metastable R′phase in TiNi shape memory alloy werestudied by selected area electron diffraction, and electron micrograph R′phase may be formed in specimenaged at temperature of 673K or above after solution-quenching treatment.In-situ heating experiment determinde that metastable R′phase changed into B2 structure matrix at 413K,and R′phase is an irreversible transformation.

Ye Wujun, Zhang Wei, Zhao Zhenye. The Evaluation on the Rate and Life of Fatigue Crack Propagation of HSLA Steel[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(9): 32-35.

The fracture surface of fatigue test parts was analysed with TEM & SEM.We analysed the fracture surface of fatigue test part and evaluated the rate of fatigue crack propegation and the life of fatigue crack propagation. These results are very consistent with the macro-analysis results. It is believed that the fatigue crack propagation striation can be used to evaluate the life of fatigue crack propagation of HSLA.

The calculation of adiabatic temperature (Tad) in the process of seif-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) is studied in this paper. The adiabatic temperature in SHS is calculated through Fox BASE language program on the base of establishing thermodynamic data pool concerned, and the computed results arecompared with the Tad reported. At the same time, the curve about the influence of preheating temperature and adding diluent on Tad is drawn as an example.

Feng Yushu, Yu Guifu. Study on the Consolidation of a Rapidly Solidified Al-Mn-Ni Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(9): 40-42,39.

The effects of powder size and the temperatures of degassing, compact, extrusion on microstructure and property of rapidly solidified Al-4Mn-4Ni-0.6Mg-0.6Zr alloy were studied.Lower temperatures of degassing, compact and extrusion resulted in higher strength. The effect of powder size on property was determined by the temperatures of degassing and compact.

Yan Hai, Chen Ying, Su Xijiu, Tao Chunhu, Xie Mingli. An Investigation of Fatigue Failure in a Driver of Reducing Gear[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1993, 0(9): 45-47.

The fatigue behavior in a driver of the reducing gear has been investigated. It is shown that the macrocracks are initiated by a strong stress in the root of the gear wheel, and the distribution as well as the propagation of the fatigue crack are the characterstics of the resonance.
