    The irifluence of crystallographic orientations on dendritic morphologies in a SC suporalloy has been investigated. The results indicate that,an obviotis change of the geometrical arrangement of primary dendrites and unsymmetric secondary arms occur for different crystallographic orientations.

    TiC,Cr23C6 are the main carbides deposited from the Cr and Ti strengthened Ni3Al base alloy. There is some relationship of lattice between γ' and Cr23C6. The phenomenon of TiC→M23C6+γ' is existed if it is kept under the temperature of 950℃ for a long time.

    The angle between the whisker orientation direction and cutting direction(cutting angle) has much effects on the cutting surface quality of the SiCw/Al composite.When the cutting angle is 45°,the amount of the pulled out or rotated SiC whisker is lower, so the snrface finish of Ra is the lowest;when the cutting angle is 135°,lots of SiC whiskers are rotated which leads to a serious torn fracture on the cutting surfaces,so the surface finish of Ra is the highest.

    Xu Hua, Guo Mengxiong. Research on Growth Process of SiCw Made from Rice Hulls[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1994, 0(2): 14-16.

    The microtructure and morphology of silicon carbide whiskers grown from rice hulls has ben studied by using TEM. The results show that silicon carbide whisker is one-dimension VLS growth process. The changing of furnace's power and heat lossing can affect the SiCw's morphology and diameter seriously. The largrr the furnace's power is,the rotigher the SiCw diameter is,the more the heat lossing is,the wider the SiCw diameter is. Not only diameter of SiCw is wider,but also the morphology of SiCw is rougher when Argon is used than Hydrogen.

    Pei Yutao, Ouyang Jiahu, Lei Tingquan. Study of Laser Clad Ni-base Alloy/ZrO2(4Y)Ceramic Layer on the Surface of 45 Steel[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1994, 0(2): 22-24,21.

    In this paper the microstructure and hardness of laser clad Ni-base/ZrO2(4Y) ceramic layer on the surface of 45 steel are examined by SEM、EDAX、XRD and microdurometer. A layering phenomenon is observed in laser cladded zone, in which there are two layers:ZrO2 ceramic surface layer followed by solidified Ni-base solid solution. The ceramic layer mainly consists of t-ZrO2 and γ-Ni phases. The quick melting and solidifying caused by laser processing restrains T→m-ZrO2 phase transformation. under appropriate processing parameters,a homogeneous and non-porous ZrO2 ceramic layer is obtained, and its microbardness is up to HV0.21720.

    The characteristics of overheat in 300M Steel was studied. The standard sample in etch inspotion was produced.The sample was practical in checking the etch solution.
