    The morphology and mechanical properties of blends of PET with a thermotropic liquid crystalline polyester(LCP)were investigated.A distinct skin-core morphology was observed for the injection molded samples of the blends,where the LCP fibers composed the skin layer,and the core section present a structure of spherical particles of LCP embeded in the PET matrix. Considerable improvement of the tensile strength and modulous for the blends has been obtained and it is attributed to the existence of LCP fibers formed during the molding processing as well as the good adhension between the two components.

    Guo Hongquan. An Experimental Study on DFRcutoff Values of 2024-T3 Aluminum Alloy Clad Sheets[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(2): 9-11.

    A new concept-Detail Fatigue Ratings (DFR)was used to compare the fatigue resistant of 2024-T3 aluminum alloy clad sheet made in CHINA with that sheet made in U.S.A.. Tests were performed in same test conditions.It was found from test results and from statistical analysis that no evident difference could be found between both sheets and tested 2024-T3 aluminum alloy made in CHINA is comparable with 2024-T3 aluminum alloy made in U. S. A..

    The Liquids of binary Al-10wt%Cu and Al-33.2wt%Cu alloy have been performed superheating treatmenting in the range 700~1200℃,then solidfied in sand and metal mould The influences of super-heating on the microstructure,micro hardness grain size and thermal analysis of solification have been studied.The structure of liquid Al-Cu alloy has been analysed.

    Pei Zhibin, Tian Changsheng, Zhao Xinwei. The Effect of Sol-Gel Processing Parameters on the Structure of(Pb,La)TiO3 Thin Films[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(2): 20-23.

    The influence of catalyst and solution concentration on the formation of (Pb(1-x) Lax) Ti(1-x/4) O3(PLT) Sol and Gel at the room temperature were studied systematically and the effect of the sintering temperature on the crystallization and the grain size of thin films were investigated by X-Ray diffraction and SEM analysis It was shown that clear sol and transparent gel were formed only with appropriate range of acetic acid content and solution concentraction,which reduced with increasing content of La. It was found that the crystallization temperature of thin films lowered with an increase of the La content Uniform and crack-free PLT thin films with perovskite structure were obtained on(100) Sisingle Crystal substrate. The thickness of thin films is about 200nm.

    Li Fengmei, Sun Hongrong. The Effects of the Content of Sintered Aids LY(La2O3+Y2O3)on the GPS Si3N4 Properties[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(2): 24-26.

    For two-step GPS Si3N4 ceramics,the effects of the additional content of sintered aids LY(La2 O3+ Y2O3)on the sintered relative density and the mechanical properties were studied systematically. The results revealed that the sintered relative density increased with the increasing of the amount of the aids.It was founded that the best bending strength was 422 MPa when aids was 18 wt%. Then,with the increasing of aids,the bending strength began to decrease remarkably.

    This paper deals with the duplex microstructures of M/B formed during austemepring after CD carburizing,the bending fracture topography,the michanism of fatigue wear in self-tapping screw dies and effect of duplex microstructure of M/B on fatigue wear.The test revealed that the nucleation period of fatigue crack is put off because the martensite in carburizing layer keeps high carbon content,duplex microstructure of M/B hinder the spread of fatigue crack.The process of austemepring after CD carburing in high carbon and alloy elements die steel seems to be effective method that prolongs service life of dies.

    The key surface property factor of sizing carbon fibers from different trademark is determined by X-ray photoelectron energy spectrometer,and the chemical state of their surface is discussed,which can offer information for further research on chemical state of interface in carbon fiber/resin composites and on surface treatment of homemade carbon fiber.

    Yu Changzhen, Huang Shumao. Light Absorption Characteristics and Application of Chromium Complex Formed by Platinum Family Metal and Chloride[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(2): 41-43.

    The light absorption characteristics of chromium complex formed by platinum family metal and chloride has been studied. The Experiment shows that they have their own absorptive peaks and vallys respectively. These characteristics can be used for the quantitative analysis of noble metal alloys,and no need to separate them. The handling sequences are very simple. The author has studied the forming conditions,linear range and actual application of chromium complex.And this article also demonstrates the analysis methods,principles and the experimental procedures by measuring the iridium in the platinum and iridium alloy as an example. The standard deviation is 0.15%when the iridium content is 10%.

    It was proved by the optical and electronical microanalysis methods and mechanical analysis that the thermal stress,corrosive medium in burned gas and dendritic structure of the vane were main reasons for the cracking of the turbine nozzle vane. The way to improve the service life of the vane was suggested.
