The materials and several major deposition methods of ferroelectric thin films have been re-viewed. Some possible applications of ferroelectric thin films such as non-volatile memories,surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices,micropositioning and actuation devices are mentioned. It is emphasized that ferroelectric non-volatile memories applied in the on-hard computing systems of aircraft、missiles and Satellite will significantly increase these systems capabilities.

The results of Y. Hirose and Z. Lin et al.(1994)can be applied to discuss the average elastic-plastic behavior of the composite material subjected only to axial stress. This composite material is composed of matrix and spherical inclusions of isotropic perfect ideal elastic plastic materials. The volume of any inclusion is smaller than the volume of matrix, and the inclusions fit tightly against the matrix. The criteria is found when the inclusion becomes plastic firstly,It is shown that the yield stress of composite materials σso increases with the increment of the total volume fraction of the inclusions f, when the shear elasticity of the inclusion μ* is bigger than that of matrix μ,the overall stress at the case of initial yielding is obtained.

The effect of CeO2 on atomic connection energies in the Al2O3-typo scale formed at 1100℃ isothermally and at the scale/substrate interface, were studied by a novel SIMS technique of measuring the curves of Al, Ni secondary ion density vs resistance voltage. On the base of the results of the increase in the atomic connection energies by CeO2 addition, the mechanism about the effect of CeO2 on the oxidation kinetics of Al2O3-type scale was analysed.

Coated effect on mechanical properties of the Ti-fiber and Ti-fibers-reinforced γ-TiAl intermetallic matrix composites was investigated. Research results indicated that Ti/TiAl composites made of coating Ti-fibers with Y2O3 or Al2O3 by PVD not only improve mechanical properties of γ-TiAl and Ti/TiAl composites,but also decrease thickness of the interfacial reaction layer of the fiber/mathix. Coat of Y2O3 had higher stability than that of Al2O3. It is of importance to study profoundly coated effect on synthesis and mechanical properties of composites.

The conditional fatigue crack initiation lifes have been measured using rectangle notched specimens of steel 20CrMnMo under four point bending loads and the fatigue crack initation behaviors have been studied by microanalysis. The experimental results show that the fatigue crack initiation life of the notched specimens is increased remarkably because 20~30% bainite is introduced in low carbon martensite. Although bainite in duplex structures formed short-time isothermal treatment can produce slip deformation easily and initiate cracks, but many non-propagating cracks can be formed simultaneously and the stress concentration can be alleviated effectively under existing larger stress concentration conditions(Kt ≥ 2),so that the propagating crack formation life can be prolonged.

The protective film which may be substantially a insulating jacket of polymeric composite restricts access of air to the article so that electrical stability has been improved. The selection of coating material,coating technique and in-crease of electrical stability are introduced.

The influnce of ageing time on microstructure and mechanical properties of 16NiCb steel was studied.The restuls show that the impact toughness shows initially an increase with increasing ageing time at 510℃ At ageing time greater than 8h, it begins to decrease. Strength and hardness decrease slightly until 8h the strength and hardness drop more rapidly between 8h and 16h. Mo2C size increases with the increasing in ageing time.In order for this steel to have excellent combination of strength and toughness, the ageing time at 510℃ should be smaller than 8h.

By using alloys,which are located within the near eutectic compositional range,and adding suitable amount of Ce to amorphous alloy strips can effectively lower the susceptility to annealing embrittlement of Fe-based amorphous alloys. And so do the production of ultra-thin amorphous strips by suitable melt-spinning technique. Compared to conventional annealing methods, pulse current heating annealing can obviously improve magnetic properties of as-quenched metallic glassses with no or few loss of ductility and is hopeful to become a practical method for obtainging optimum ductile and magnetic properties of Fe-based amorphous alloys.

This paper studies the macromicro-fractog-rpahic characheristic of LC4 aluminium alloy fatigue elements by means of SEM and optical metallograph. The cause of the fracture position transference and of the fatigue life scatter is discussed.The influences of processing and installing quality on the fatigue life are also investigated.

Fractographs of the polymethylmethacrylate used for the pilot's carbin of the type H6 bomber were observed. The results indicate that the fracture surface of pilot's carbin installig on the No.50 bomber has the appearance of instantaneous fracture, which was caused by solvent corrosion. The fracture surface of No69 bomber has a feature of fatigue fractures.
