    Solidification behavior of Cu-Pb Hypomonotectic alloy with rapid cooling rate is detected by melt spinning processing.It is found that rapid cooling refines the phase spacing of composites,extends the composition range over which composites can be formed to low lead content,and regularizes the composite morphology. Meanwhile,very regular radiated structure is observed for the first time. A model for rapid monotectic composite growth which agrees with experimental results is developed from the balance of mass transfer.

    Qin Zirui, Gu Wenquan, Liao Weijian, Liu Meiyun. The Microstructure and Corrosion Behavior of High Molybdenum Cast Stainless Steel[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(4): 23-26,11.

    The chemical composition of new high Mo cast stainless steel was designed. Metallographic microscope and X-ray diffraction spectrum and several kinds corrosion test methods are applied to investigate the microstructure and corrosion behavior of the steel.Experimental results show that,new steel has better corrosion resistance in rare hydrochloric acid and good intergranular corrosion resistance and pitting corrosion resistance.

    Zhu Suidong, Liu Chunmei, Cong Xin, Ning Mei, Li Yizeng. The Retained Austenite Emerged in the Austempered Structure after CD Carburizing[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(4): 27-29.

    As a high carbon content and high alloy element alloy steel, Cr12MoV steel has been carburized fol-lowed by austempering.There is a relatively large quantity of retained A both in the inside structure and surface layer, but the quantity of retained A in these two positions change.in reverse pattern.This is caused by speciality of phase and composition in these two parts. The study on retained A is a important aspect in the structure of CD carburizing followed by austempering in high carbon and high alloy element alloy steel.

    The piezoelectric ceramic particle distribution in particle rein forced polychlorothylene matrix composite has been studied with scanning acoustic microscope. Experimental results show that the reinforced particles will have a redistribution along perpendicular direction under gravity.And Nmax is related to the particle size and mechanical properties of polymatrix.

    Yu Jiantong, Li Chunzhi. A Study of the Interface Structure in SiC Fiber Reinforced Al Matrix Composites[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(4): 32-34.

    The structure of the interface of a chemical vapour deposition SiC fiber reinforced LD 2 Al matrix composites has been studied by using TEM and EDX,and the relationship between microstructures and properties has been discussed.Research results show that the bond between matrix and fiber is perfact but rod-like particles of Al4 C3 phase with rhombohedral structure form in interfaces.The phase is harmful to the strength of fibers.

    Wu Weiting, Tai Huiwen, Zhang Liucheng. Thermomechanical Studies on Castor Oil PU-Epoxy Interpenetration Polymer Networks[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(4): 35-37.

    The Tg's and thermal expansion coefficients of castor oil PU-epoxy IPN's were investigated by thermomechanical analysis(TMA).Results obtained by TMA indicated:(1) When in glassy state,IPN's thermal expansion coefficient follows the additivity rule contribution from that of their components.whereas when in high elastic state, its thermal expansion coefficient almost is the average of the two thermal expansions.(2) In some composition range the IPN's has two Tg's (Tg1' and Tg2')。For different composition,it has different Tg1' and different Tg2', but(Tg2'-Tg1')'s are very nearly. These results show the independence of the degrees of component segregation(miscibility)with the composition in this system.

    A broad experimental study on corrosion fatigue behaviour of LC 4 CS high strength aluminum alloy was carried out.Axial fatigue tests and fatigue crack propagation tests in laboratory air environment,humidity air,salt fog,salt fog+SO2 and artificial sea water environment were performed.Significant environment effect was found.A new concept of DFRcutoff was introduced to evaluate corrosion fatigue resistant which could become other important basis for life evaluation of new and aged aircraft.

    According to the appearances of a macrofractographs,the coating structure of punching top which is used to make a seamless pipe, chemical composition of the steel matrix,microstructure and technology of heat treatment has been discussed. Because the coating structure of punching top is not densified,the coating cannot effectively restrain a crack formation in the steel natrix and may accelerate a fatique crack propagation.
