    There is a unique fine grain layer near the bond of TIG weld of Al-Li alloy and the epitaxial growth of weld metal is restraned. The formation of the layer is related to both the properties of the alloying elements such as Li, Zr and Ti in Al-Li alloy and the effect of these elements on the crystallizing process of weld metal.

    Wang Zhigang, Li Wenyu, Li Tong. Study on Surface Composition and δ Phase in Vacuum Heat-Treated Superalloy GH169[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(12): 6-9.

    The surface composition of a vacuum heat-treated superalloy GH169 has been studied by using ofEPMA,and mechanical properties has been tested.The element Al Consisted in surface layer was vaporized, but yet other elements (such as Cr,Ni, Ti Mo and Nb) were not vaporized. With the increase of treated temperature the amount of δ phase was reduced in the range between 940℃ and 980℃, the δ phase particles in metrix are not so fine as that within l0μm of the surface. Finally,mechanical properties of superalloy GH169 which was heat-treated at the vacuum,can meet the needs of aerospace materials specification.

    Li Fengmei. Study on Si3N4 Reaction Binding Sintering[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(12): 10-12.

    For reaction binding Si3N4 ceramics the effects of the additional content of silicon powder on the sintering density and phase component are studied systematically. The results revealed that the additional con-tent of 12~30wt% silicon powder is the best suitable for reaction binding Si3N4 ceramics without other catalysts, when YL (La2O3 and Y2O3) aids is used. Finally the vanes of silicon nitride (Si3 N4) ceramics are manufactured by hot pressing casting combining with reaction binding sintering.

    This investigation results indicate that TiNiNb wide hysteresis shape memory alloy which was prepared by melting in consuming vacuum arc furnace at two times have a large width of hysteresis, a good mechanical properties and a low content of impurities,and the alloy can be stored and transported at room temperature.

    Chen Jian, Yao Bin, Zheng Qi, Tang Yajun, Hu Zhuangqi. Effect of High Pressure Treatment on Ni50Al30Fe20 Intermetallic Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(12): 20-22.

    Ni50Al30Fe20 intermetallic alloy was treated by high pressure in the range of l~4GPa. It was found that the amount of plastic deformation decreased with increasing treat pressure. The slip of the sample was hindered by the compression of surrounding pyrophyllite under high pressure and microcracks nucleated within the grain. The cracks are easy to connect during compression test and cause immature fracture. Thedirection of fracture surface changed gradually from 45° to the compression axis to perpendicular to the compression axis.

    Liu Haiping, Qi Huibin, He Yedong, Zhu Rizhang. SEM Observation on the Microstructures of Several Fe-Mo Binary Alloys[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(12): 23-24.

    SEM was employed to investigate the microstructures of Fe-Mo binary alloys contaming molybdenum in the range from 20wt%to 5 7 wt%. The results revealed that the real phases in each alloy were not the same as those in Fe-Mo binary phase diagram. The reasons for this difference was discussed.

    Wuyunqiqiger, Fan Guangyu. The Effect of the Rare-Earth Surface Treatment Agent on Epoxy Resin[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(12): 25-27.

    Epoxy/phenolic resin system is usually used to manufacture glass fiber reinforced plastics.The enhancing toughness of glass fiber reinforced plastic is closely related to the degree of its curing.In this Pa-per,the kinetics of epoxy/phenolic resin, which treated with surface treatment agent, was studied by DTA method, and the rate constant of curing reaction was calculated. The amount of epoxy group,which changed in this system,was measured by FTIR method.The results indicated that LBE rare-earth surface treatment agent a promotion effect on curing reaction of epoxy resin.Especially,the presence of a coagent,silance coupling agent, give more effective surface treatment results.

    It was noted that the characters of SiC whisker and fabrication process of SiC whisker-reinforced matrix composite had considerable effects on the strength and toughness of the resultant composites.These effects were closely correlated with the aspect ratio,diameter,straightness,crystal imperfection,the surface morphology and chemistry of SiC whisker and interfacial bonding in the composite.As noted above, some issues at domestic and abroad were reviewed in this paper.

    This paper has contrasted the mechanical properties of Al2O3- (Ti,W) C with SiCw-Al2O3 (Ti,W) C material.The influence of hot pressing technologies,SiC whisker content, dispersed effect of whisker and the compound situation between the whisker and the matrix on mechanical properties of Al2O3 (Ti,w) C is studied,It is verified from the thermal expansion misfit and microstructure that the toughening mechanisms of SiCw-Al2O3- (Ti,W) C are crack deflection and bridging.

    . Study on the Stability of Thermal Barrier Coatings(TBC)[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(12): 36-37,22.

    ZrO2·8% Y2 O3 was deposited by rf magnetron sputtering on NiCrAlY bond coat,thermal cyclingand fused salt effect experiments were made under the condition of 1100℃ room temperature 1100℃ cold water, and 900℃ room temperature,and were investigated by XRD and SEM,The results showthat ZrO2·8% Y2 O3 deposited appears mainly as cubic and a little monoclinic phase and tetragonalphase. The thermal cycle and Na2 SO4 -5% NaCl fused salt promoted cubic→ monoclinic transformation.The effect of the chemical and physical interact ion of fused salt on crystal boundaty and bond coat is an-other factor which affects the stability of the coating.

    Some questions in the development of rapidly solidified high temperature aluminum alloy is discussed in this report.It was showed that Al-8Fe-MRE powder alloys exhibitied excellent room and elevated temperature mechanical prolperties of extruding condition.

    Liu Chaozhen, Wu Peiyuan. Rupture Analysis of Hydraulic Signal Meter Film Box for the Airplane[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1995, 0(12): 46-48.

    The film box of hydraulic signal meter was taken place rupture failure in service. The technical examine,analysis of failed film boxes and simulated test was completed. The results show that the film box broken down because of un usually large stress. A similar accident has not taken place after the film box is refited in accordance with our conclusion.
