    Al2O3 particles were coated with nickel or copper by means of electroless plating technique in this study. The influence of metallic coatings of Al2O3 particles on the interface structural models and properties of Al2O3-bronze composite was studied. XRD results indicated that a intermetallic compound Ni2Al3 existed at the interface of the nickel-coated Al2O3-bronze composite due to a chemical reaction, thus increasing the interfacial bonding strength. Copper-coated Al2O3-bronze composite, without chemical reaction, also exhibited some increased interfacial bonding strength due to a tighter interlocking between matrix and coated reinforcement. Furthermore, composite with coated particles had better interfacial structure than that had uncoated ones. Results showed metallic coatings on the surface of Al2O3 particles could greatly affect the density, hardness, tensile strength and wear resistance of the composite.

    The epoxy resin was cured by a new curing agent. The equilibrium moisture absorption of the resin casting is approximately 1.65%. Tg of the resin casting is more than 200℃ after it was immersed in water at 95~100℃ for 72 h. The moisture absorption of the resin cured in different condition is different. The moisture absorption is rising as the weight of AG-80 in the formula of resin was increased.

    The action of thermal post-treatment in vacuum on the crystallizing of amorphous carbon nitride thin film has been studied. As X-ray diffraction(XRD) spectrums and the transmission electron deffraction (TED) patterns indicated that the thermal post-treatment in vacuum does great benefit to the synthesis of β-C3N4 crystal structure.

    The elastic finite element method was introduced to study thermal residual stresses developed during fabrication in Al2O3-Ti system functionally gradient material (FGM). The effect of graded interlayer number, graded thickness and compositional gradient exponent on thermal residual stresses value and distribution was analyzed, then several parameters were optimized. Thermal residual stresses in non-gradient material (NFGM) and optimized FGM were comprised, the result showed that the effect of thermal stresses alleviated by FGM was remarkable.

    This paper tries to analyze the effects of four suburea accelerators on flexural strength,flexural modulus and inter-laminar shear strength of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite cured by Dicy., and indicates that in dry and wet state, the composite with M type accelerator has much better mechanical properties. Meanwhile, the inter laminar shear strength of this composite with saturated water absorption still possesses a relatively high retention when it is tested at 80℃, so the accelerator of M type is recommended as a basic component of medium-temperature cured epoxy matrix composite with high resistance to hot-wet.

    Huang Hanxiong. Structural Morphology of Self-Reinforced Polypropylene[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1998, 0(3): 17-19.

    Self-reinforced polypropylene sheets (1.5mm thickness) have been prepared using a conventional extruder and a conical die from continuous melt extrusion. The scanning electron micrograph observation and microhardness and light transmittance measurements are used to characterize the normal and self-reinforced sheets. This study demonstrates that the extended-chain microfibrious structural morphology is formed in the self reinforced sample along the extrusion direction. The microfibril is the reinforced phase in the self-reinforced polymerical materials.

    The positron annihilation technique was employed to investigate the strain process in a series of Fe-based shape memory alloy. The results indicate the variation of defect structure associated with the different stages in the prestrain. The influence of defects on the shape memory effect of alloys was discussed.

    Zhang Qingling, Ju Xuening, Wang Qingru, Yang Surong, Xia Shaoyu. Study on the Fatigue Fracture of Ti-15-3 Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1998, 0(3): 25-28.

    The fatigue properties and modes of fatigue crack initiation of the smooth and notched Ti-15-3 alloy sheets were studied. The results shown that the crack initiation appears mostly in the original surface of the smooth fatigue specimen, and then formed the surface source. Whereas, the crack initiation appears in the machining surface of the fatigue specimen with the center bore or edge notch, then formed the corner source or the line source. The tensile strength of the aged alloy sheets at 520℃ is 73MPa higher than at 540℃, however, there is little difference between them.

    Ti-0.2Pd alloy impller for SF-1000 Model two stage blower is a major component of large scale chlorhydric acid reclaiming equipment. Manufacturing of the impller by means of integral casting is entirely favourable for both technique and economy. This paper mainly describes integral blower impller casting developed by the machined graphite and cast iron mould, vacuum arc skull melting and cast technology.

    Large sample of an aluminium alloy was fabricated with pressure casting in this paper. And the influence of process parameters (such as pouring temperature and infiltration pressure, etc) were studied systemetically. The experimental results show that the initinal temperature of preform plays a critical role on valid length of final product. However, high pouring temperature and high infiltration pressure would be benefit to the penetration of liquid metal through porous media. In general, the larger void size of preform, the easier liquid metal penetcates, the longer distance of liquid metal penetrates. On the basis of experimental result, the penetrating length of liquid metal and initial temperature of preform and stress distribution through the preform had been derived theoreticallg.
