Li Dingqiang, Sun Baode, Liu Yi, Lin Dongliang. Deformation Behavior of an FeAl Intermetallic Alloy at Elevated Temperatures[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1998, 0(10): 11-14.

The mechanical properties of Fe-36.5at% Al intermetallic alloy at elevated temperatures have been measured. The elongation to failure of the alloy increases significantly with the temperature increasing from 600℃ to 1000℃ and the and the maximum of elongation to failure is up to 115% when the alloy deformed at 1000℃. The dislocation features in the alloy have also been investigated by transmission electron microscopy There exist not only a large number of gliding dislocation lines but also a number of helical dislocations in the Fe Al alloy deformed at elevated temperatures. All of these dislocations have a Burger vector of <111>. It is assumed that the climb motion as well as the glide motion of dislocations with a<111>. Burgers vector are responsible for a good ductility of the Fe-36.5at% Al alloy deformed at elevated temperatures.

In this paper, densified TiC-30wt%Fe cermet was produced by self-propergating high temperature synthsis and pseudo-hot isostatic pressing(SHS/PHIP). The composition and microstructure of the product were analysed. A formation mechanism for the cermet made by SHS/PHIP was proposed. The results show that the cermet consisted of quasi-sphere TiC particles and Fe-binder phase. A thin diffused layer was found between Fe and TiC.

Ti-B-N films were synthesized by alternative deposition of Ti and h-BN through substrate rotation in multi-target magnetron sputtering system. The microstructure and mechanical properties of films were studied by XRD, TEM and microindentor. It is shown that deposited Ti-B-N films exists as amorphous Ti(N,B) compound and the hardness reaches HK2470 After crystallization, Ti-B-N films consist of Ti(N, B)crystal existed in TiN-like structure and the hardness decreases a little.

Structures and main properties of the fluororubber of improved low temperature property have been investigated. The results show that the fluororubber mentioned above could beused in an environment of -50~300℃ and the structure characteristics of them could be showed clearly in 19F-NMR spectrum,-O- in 20~30×10-6 and -CN group in -8×10-6 and -2×10-6.

Thermodynamic analyses for chemical vapor deposition(CVD) process of TiC from TiCl4-CH4-H2 system was made. The kinetic characteristics of TiC CVD process at different deposition temperature, and the effects of the supersaturation of the vapor and the nucleation processes on the deposition morphology of TiC coating in different type of kinetic mechanism have been studied. The supersaturation of the vapor and the type of kinetic process involved in the deposition of TiC coating are determining factors for the control of their nucleation and morphology.

Bai Tongqing, Li Dongsheng. Influence of Sn Contents on Friction Properties of Cu-Cermet Friction Material[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1998, 0(10): 30-32.

The influence of Sn addition on friction properties of Cu-cermet friction material were studied. It was shown that small addition of Sn has little influence on friction coefficient, and marked influence on wear of Cu-cermet friction material, when 0.50%Sn, the wear of friction material and steel is lower.

Zhao Wenzhen. Study of Wear Resistance of Coatings with Thermal Spraying and Spray Welding[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1998, 0(10): 33-36.

The thermal spraying and spray welding are extensively used to strengthen the wearing surface of parts. The coats with different structures and properties can be obtained according as coat materials and processes. It is a guide for engineering application to study and to evaluate the wearabilities and wear-regularities of the coats in the scoring abrasion and erosive abrasion.

Ma Kangmin. A Study of Cracks Occurred at Welding Edge of 30CrMnSiNi2A Steel Structure[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1998, 0(10): 43-46.

This paper mainly discusses the cracks occurred at th welding edge of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel structure used for aircraft main landing gear, studies the crack's shape and fracture characteristics and analizes the couses of crack's formation and propagation. It is thought that the included angle between the projection of the welding seam and the camber surface of inner sideboard is too small, causing the stress concentration, the porosity of welding root, the scars of grinding and the corrosion pits may cause the occurrence of cracks, and the greater moment of force in the aircraft taxiing, braking and turning mahes it possible for cracks to develop.
