    The slabs of a single crystal superalloy with adding 2.2%Re, 3.2%Re and 4.2%Re respectively and basically no changing other alloy element contents were poured. The effects of rhenium(Re) on the ultimate tensile strength, creep rupture life and microstructure of a single crystal superalloy were studied. The results show that with increasing Re the ultimate tensile strength at 649℃ decreases but the ductility increases obviously, and the creep rupture life at 982℃/248.2MPa, 1038℃/206.8MPa and 1070℃/176.8MPa remarkably increases while the ductility decreases; on the microstructure aspect, with increasing Re, hence the creep rupture life of the alloy increases, the γ' rafting is getting bigger and bigger at the same test condition.

    Low cost second generation single crystal superalloy DD398 is briefly introduced. The alloy has about 30℃ higher temperature capability than the first generation single crystal superalloy DD3. Its tensile strength, stress-rupture properties, oxidation and corrosion resistance are comparable to foreign second generation single crystal superalloys widely used. It has excellent microstructure stability, single crystal castability and lower cost because of its lower rhenium content.

    Liu Zhenyun, Huang Baiyun, Lin Dongliang. Investigation of La's Effect on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ni Rich NiAl Alloys[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1999, 0(3): 11-14,27.

    The effects of La on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Ni rich NiAl alloys were investigated by compress, bending deformation and optical micrography, SEM. The results show that little La can greatly improve the yield stress and strain of the alloys at room temperature. But if content amount of La exceeds the limited amount, their RT ductility decreases. The reason of beneficial effects of La is that La can decrease the grain size and make the NiAl phase and Ni3Al phase more compatible.

    The ultimate tensile strength(σb、σs), elastic modules(E) and elongation(δ) of the in-situ TiCp/2024 composites was tested at the heat treatment condition of T4 and T6. The microstructure of the in-situ extruded TiCp/2024 composites was observed by the use of SEM, and the fracture morphology was also observed. The results show that the ultimate tensile strength and the elastic modules of the composite with 15wt%TiCp are 540MPa,430MPa and 92GPa respectively, and the elongation is up to 3.2%.The fracture is ductile. All of these indicte that the composites are of good mechanical properties.

    Shen Guiqin, Xu Bin, Peng Yiqun, Tuo Xiangming. Phase Transformation in Ti-15Mo-2.7Nb-3A-0.2Si High Strength Titanium Alloy[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1999, 0(3): 19-23.

    The precipitation behaviors of metastable β phase during aging in Ti-15Mo-2.7Nb-3Al-0.2Si alloy were systematically studied by using TEM, SEM and X-Ray diffraction analysis.The kinetic diagram of aging transformation was established also. Research results show that α phase is directly precipitated from β matrix during aging above 500℃ and ω phase is prior formed below this aging temperature.ω phase gradually transits to α equilibrium phase in subsequent aging. Finally, the aging hardening effect and formation of silicide in this alloy are discussed.

    The research on the nano-multilayer films has attracted wide attention because of their anormal properties in physics and mechanics. The microstructure of the W/Mo nano-multilayer film has been investigated by means of XRD and TEM in this paper. It is shown that,due to W and Mo having the same BCC structure with approximately lattice constant,columnlar grains grow through modulaion interface in the way of epitaxy, forming polycrystal superlattice in the nano-multilayer films.

    Jia Wenhua. Study of Weather resisting and Flame proofing Sizing Materials of Shed Cloth[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1999, 0(3): 32-34.

    The base materials,flame retardants of weather-resisiting and flame-proofing shed cloth were studied. The effect of vulcanized system on flame retardancy and mechanical properties was researched also. The results show that adding halogen-containing flame retardant,antimony oxide and aluminium trihydroxide,the basic rubber(EPDM) has the limiting oxygen inedx(LOI) of 28.5%. The EPDM rubber is vulcanized completely under 160℃ and 8min condition with the sulphur as vulcanizing agent.

    High temperature properties of fluoro-silicones, including oxidation stability, viscosity, evaporation losses, compatibility with rubbers and lubricity,was studied and compared with the same type oil at abroad and with the ester type oil at home. The results indicate that the oxidation stability of fluoro-silicones is higher than the ester type oil. The suitable antioxidant may improve its oxidation stability.

    Liu Liming, Niu Jitai, Tian Yanhong. Study of Interface Reaction and Effecting Factor of Aluminium Matrix Composite under Laser Welding Condition[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1999, 0(3): 38-40,44.

    Interface reaction of aluminium matrix composite SiC/6061Al in the welded joint subjected to laser welding was studied. Effects of laser output power and pulse frequency welding parameters on interface reaction were also investigated. The results show that main reason for bad weldability of the composite concernes with interface reaction during the welding,that is:4Al(l)+3SiC(s)→Al4C3(s)+Si(s). The study proves that the laser welding can be successfully used in the welding of SiCw/6061Al aluminium matrix composite.

    The effects of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of GH742 superalloy were studied in this paper. It shows that the morphology of γ' phase and grain size can be changed obviously by changing the annealing heat treatment,the excellent comprehensive properties are obtained by controlling the annealing temperature to get a smaller grain size and coexistence of big size and small size of γ' phase. The distribution and amount of γ' phase are also changed by controlling the aging time and temperature. The lower the aging temperature and longer the aging time is,the more the amount of γ' phase is These changes make the alloy have higher strength and lower ductility.

    Qi Jun Wang, Kunlin Liang, Mianchang, Zhu Yunming. Study on Laser Scribing of Silicon Wafer with a Q-switched Nd:YAG Laser[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 1999, 0(3): 45-48.

    Laser scribing of silicon wafer with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser was studied and the relationship between process parameters and groove depth and width has been obtained. The interaction process of laser beam and material was also analyzed theoretically and equation of laser energy density threshold induced material damage was deduced.
