Both integrated composite structure and function-integrated composite structure are target of advanced manufacturing technology in aircraft industry.Energy absorption structure is typically function-integrated structure. For composite tubes,it was found that the energy absorption behavior was increased by increasing the axial tows for braided structure,or by laying-up the prepregs orientated in the axial direction,or by increasing the interlaminar toughness. For integrated aircraft structure, sine wave beams were fabricated and demonstrated by using the textile fabrics and liquid molding.

The tangent delta peaks of dynamic mechanical thermal analysis(DMTA)for the blends of epoxies and thermoplastic are analyzed.Effects of blending ratios and the post-curing process on peaks was studied with the help of SEM.Results show that the primary peaks of tangent delta of DMTA mainly response to the segment motions of thermoplastic in a blend and the secondary peaks mainly to that of the DGEBA cured nets. The TGMDA is helpful for the separation of phases in the blends.DGEBA otherwise is helpful for the compatibility.High temperature post-curing prompts the cuing nets construction more perfectly and the phase separation more completely. In the blends the continuous phase mainly consists of a mass of thermoplastic and some TGMDA,DGEBA mainly exists in the dispersed phase.

The neodymide particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites were made by vacuum arc remelting. The structures of the neodymide particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites with variant Nd content were analyzed by optical microscopy. The mechanical properties of bars, such as tension, thermal stability, creep rupture and creep, were tested. The results show that the addition of neodymium can markedly fine the macrostructures of ingots and microstructures of bars after beta heat treatment. With increasing Nd content, the size and volume fraction of the neodymide particulates increase.Addition of Nd is of advantage for mechanical properties of the composites, especially for properties at high temperature.

The effects of carbon black(CB)fraction, carbon black type and coupling agent on carbon black/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene composites'volume resistivity and electromagnetic shielding efficiency(SE)were studied. The results showed that, when CB mass fraction was over 15%,volume resistivity dropped sharply and when it reached to 35%(mass fraction),the volume resistivity achieved the lowest value 103Ω·cm.Ti coupling agent(2%~5% mass fraction of CB)could greatly improve conduction and SE of CB/ABS composites. The influence of slit in the metal wire mesh on the SE was investigated by theoretical analysis and experimental observation.

The in-situ dispersed TiC reinforced NiAl(Co)matrix nano-composites were obtained after four kinds of elemental powders,i.e.Ni50-Al50-x-Cox+10%(volume fraction)TiC(x=5,10,20)and Ni50-Al45-Co5+20%(volume fraction)TiC were mechanically alloyed in a high-energy ball mill.In the NiAl(Co)and TiC nano-compounds,the grain size of NiAl(Co)is only about 10nm and that of TiC is 35~50nm when ball-milling Ni50-Al45-Co5-10%(volume fraction)TiC powders by the reaction mechanism of the explosive reaction. It was found that the initial time of the explosive reaction was delayed 20 minutes as the volume fraction of TiC was increased to 20%.NiAl(Co)and TiC nano-compounds were obtained using mechanically alloying Ni50-Al40-Co10-10%(volume fraction)TiC powders. However, increasing with the content of Co,the mechanism of the forming process was changed from the explosive reaction(5% Co,atom fraction)to the inter-diffusion reaction(10%Co,atom fraction). The γ-Ni(Al,Co,Ti,C)super saturation solid solution were formed during ball-milling Ni50-Al30-Co20+10%(volume fraction)TiC with inter-diffusion reaction mechanism.

In order to solve the application of stitched composites in aircraft structures, experimental studies were carried out on the post-impact compressive properties of internal stitched laminates made by resin film infusion(RFI)process.Three different environments were used in this test.It shows that stitching changes compressive mechanisms of the laminates after low velocity impact.Post-impact compressive strength is improves highly through stitching at dry/normal temperature. But stitching has little influence on residual compressive strength of laminates after low velocity at wet/high temperature.Damage areas and post-impact strength are little affected by stitching directions.Stitching in 0 degree is much better than that in other directions.

Mechanical properties, thermal constants and ablative properties of a carbon fiber/silicone modified epoxy composite were studied. Results indicated that the tensile strength, tensile modulus and shear strength of the composite were 558MPa,44.0GPa and 16.6MPa respectively. The thermal conductivity didn't exceed 0.3W/(m·K).The linear ablation rate and mass ablation rate of oxyacetylene was(0.049mm/s)and 0.0595g/s respectively. The performance of carbon fiber/silicone modified epoxy composite was better than that of carbon fiber/phenolic composite.

The composite of conducting polyaniline with Fe3O4 nanoparticles was synthesized by the means of in situ polymerization and alky-phenylsulfonic acid doping polyaniline. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles,11nm of the average of crystal size, were prepared. In order to prove that the in situ polymerization prevents nanoparticles clustering, the effect of dispersant on nanoparticles was studied. It was found that the thermal stability of composite was higher than that of conducting polyaniline, which was important to the application of conducting polyaniline. The decomposition temperature of composite increased 100℃ and the decomposition rate reduced greatly. It was thought that the strong absorption of nanoparticles caused above phenomenon.

Tensile properties and fracture mechanism of directionally solidified Cu-Cr in-situ composites were studied, and the influence of solidification rates on the properties and the fracture morphology were analysed. It is shown that Cu-Cr in-situ composites possess superior tensile properties. With the increase of the solidification rates, the tensile strength increases. The fracture morphology shows that the fibre-like eutectic as reinforce phase are chief undertaker of stress, and the fracture of the eutectic is the critical factor for the fracture of Cu-Cr in-situ composites.

The performance of RTM process and 2D braided composites of bismaleimide resin was studied. It is found that not only there is a low viscosity but also this low viscosity can be retained in a long time, the performance of RTM process of bismaleimide resin is very excellent. In addition, the mechanical properties of BMI matrix 2D braided composites are different in different directions. The maximum value will appear about on the braided angle.Analysis shows that traditional tests is not very appropriate to evaluate mechanical properties of 2D braided composite.

The friction and wear properties of two composites and matrix alloy under oil-lubricated conditions were investigated, and related wear mechanisms were analyzed. Results show that, under lubricated conditions, friction coefficient of AlNP/Al composite changes from low to high and gradually becomes steady, but just the reverse is that of TiB2P/Al composite due to the formation of lubricating oil film.As particles strength increases,50%(volume fraction)TiB2P/Al composite has lower friction coefficient and higher wear resistance than that of 50% AlNP/Al composite. In addition, because of introduction of particle reinforcements, adhesion resistance of composites is obviously improved and better than that of matrix alloy.

Two kinds of epoxy resin/nano-sized mesoporous MCM-41 and epoxy resin/nanometer-SiO2 composites were prepared by solution blending. The effect of particulates with different structure and the content of the particulates on the disperse properties and mechanical properties was studied. The result showed that nano-mesoporous MCM-41(less than 10%,mass fraction)could disperse homogeneously in the epoxy resin because dual nano-structure MCM-41(nano-sized particle and nano-sized pore structure)could form novel nanonetwork composite with the matrix,as a result the tensile properties were raised efficiently. When the content of solid nanometer-SiO2 was equal to or more than 5%(mass fraction),the tensile properties of the composite decreased because of the agglomerates of nanometer-SiO2.
