    Dynamic behaviors of two kinds of blended polymer(PP/PA/PP-g-MAH and PP/PA/TPEg) at high strain rate(102~103s-1) were investigated experimentally by SHPB technique.It is found that the dynamic stress-strain curve of blended polymer can be expressed very well with a nonlinear viscoelastic constitutive equation(ZWT eqn) at high strain rate.The dynamic parameters of PP/PA were obtained with least square method.The predicated theoretical results coincide quite well with the experiment data.

    Pure Fe,Cr,Al powders were used to prepare powder mixture.Fe-25Cr-5Al honeycomb has been made by extruding powder mixture and sintering.Effect of sintering temperature and time on honeycomb structures has been studied.The results show that the contract ratio and the apparent density of extruded metallic honeycomb increase with increasing sintering temperature,the contract ratio ranges from 5.6% to 12.3%,and the apparent density ranges from 0.98 to 1.09g/cm3.When sintering at 1250℃,the contract ratio and the apparent density of extruded metallic honeycomb increase with increasing sintering time,the contract ratio ranges from 6.5% to 12.1%,and the apparent density ranges from 0.85 to 1.02g/cm3.The sintering structure consists of α-Fe,(Fe,Cr)-Al compounds,and Cr2O3,Al2O3.

    LI Xia, ZHAO Dong-lin, HOU Jing-wei, SHEN Zeng-min. Filling Carbon Nanotubes with Metallic Silver Nanowires and Its Formation Mechanism[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 2006, 0(3): 11-13,17.

    The filling of multi-walled carbon nanotubes with metallic silver via wet chemistry is presented,and carbon nanotubes are filled with long continuous nanowires.The nanotubes were almost opened and cut after being treated with concentrated nitric acid.Silver nitrate solution filled carbon nanotubes by capillarity.Carbon nanotubes were filled with silver nanowires after calcinations by hydrogen.The diameters of filling materials are in the range of 20~40nm and lengths are in the range of 100nm~10μm.Micromorphology of the filled nanotubes were studied by transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Based on the experimental results,a formation mechanism of the Ag nanowire-filled nanotubes was proposed.

    The effects of five single and three mixed corrosive environments on the fatigue crack growth and residual strength of aluminium alloy 2024-T3 were experimentally studied.The crack growth rates in corrosive environments,obtained by using Paris equation,were compared with crack growth rate in lab air.The results showed that the interactions of aggressive environments with fatigue loads caused the accelerations of fatigue crack growth rates in aluminium alloy 2024-T3.But the effects of various environments on the fatigue crack growth rate are different.Among the environments the most detrimental one was oil-box zone,followed by cookroom&washroom,tank seeper,3.5%NaCl,moist air,high altitude and dried air.Also,the test data show the less effects of various corrosive environments on critical crack length,that is,no direct influence of corrosive environments on residual strength capability dominated by fracture toughness.

    Reticulated Ni-32Cr foams with high porosities were prepared through polyurethane as framework by four-step method consisting of coating slurry,electrodeposition,pyrogenation and alloying.The morphology,structure,distribution of elements,and properties of the alloy foams were tested and investigated.The results show that the Ni-32Cr foams have excellent properties such as even struts,uniformity of elements,relative densities(less than 6.4%),high microhardness (ca.HV168 at room temperature),high compressive strength(ca.5MPa) and good oxidation resistance(mass gain less than 2×10-3 at 800℃ for 1h).

    The effect of minor Sc additions on microstructure and tensile property of Al-Cu-Li alloys has been investigated by observation of microstructure and tensile test at room temperature.The results show that addition of 0.10% scandium can obvious improve the strength and elongation,eliminate the dendrite,and strongly restrain recrystallization of the alloys.The addition of 0.15% scandium causes obvious grain refinement,keeps invariable strength,and increases elongation further.Whereas the addition of 0.25% scandium accelerates recrystallization and reduce the strength of the alloy.The favorable addition of Sc is about 0.10%~0.15% under the experimental conditions.

    A new disperse method was applied to disperse n-SiC to avoid conglomerating.The effect of process parameters on the nano-composite coating was presented.The influence of cathodic current density on surface morphology,section morphology, n-SiC co-deposition amount and microhardness of nano-composite coating was mainly studied.The result shows that good morphology,n-SiC particle dispersed uniformly and highly microhardness value of nano-composite coatings can be prepared under proper current density when other process conditions are same.

    Effect of constituents and concentration of electrolyte,current density and treatment time on corrosion resistance of ceramic coatings on magnesium alloys was investigated in 3.5% NaCl solution by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),the EIS results for different immersion time of ceramic coatings were also discussed to analyze the corrosion mechanism.The results indicated that,the corrosion resistance of ceramic coatings is improved when the concentration of electrode,current density as well as treatment time increase,however it decreases when they increase further.The outer porous layer is damaged after corrosion,while the inner dense layer played a key role to protect the coating from corrosion.

    The effects on removing the HY3 overlay coating,which was deposited by arc vacuum spraying technology was investigated.It is showed that the concentration of each element in the coating was changed as Cr in the coating was enriched tremendously after a high temperature oxidation.Since the performances of Cr2O3 and NiO on the coating removal are different,the formal solution became unsuitable for the new situation.Whereas 1# solution(HF and HNO3)effectively removed the coating before a high temperature oxidation,2# solution(HNO3 and FeCl3) is more suitable for removing the coating after a high temperature oxidation.

    Fiber preforming is critical to RTM process in several aspects,such as thermal properties,preform dimension control,and tackifier compatibility with the matrix resin.These issues were investigated based on a medium-temperature tackifier(ES-T321) and its compatibility with the RTM matrix resin(epoxy 3266).ES-T321 can be applied in form of solution or powder.Its melting point is higher than the injection temperature of 3266,guaranteeing the dimensional stability of tackified preform.At the curing temperature of 3266,ES-T321 can be dissolved and reacted with the hardener of 3266.It is general compatible with processing conditions with 3266 without sacrificing the thermal properties.

    Low carbon steel samples were tested under static tension conditions in quest of physical mechanism in geomagnetic field.Normal component of surface magnetic field intensity signals were measure by EMS-2003 metal magnetic memory instrument in the whole tensile process.The results showed that the initial magnetic signals of specimens influenced the signals after fracture.The magnetic signals were hardly varied during elastic and plastic deformation periods but changed after fracture rapidly.Zero-crossing points of magnetic signals lay in the fracture position.It is helpful some meaning on inspecting the dangerous zones of ferromagnetic materials.

    The goodness-of-fit tests were carried out to check the overall fitting effect on distribution function on diseribution function.According to the fatigue initiation life test data taken from domestic aero-engine disc materials GH4133 and 1Cr11Ni2W2MoV,choosing three commonly used distribution types(lognormal distribution,two-parameter Weibull distribution and three-parameter Weibull distribution),using probability charts and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test.The empirical failure rates at different lives were calculated to evaluate consistency to fatigue failure mechanism.The results show that the three-parameter Weibull distribution whose shape parameter is greater than 1 is the better mathematical model of fatigue life distribution for domestic disc materials GH4133 and 1Cr11Ni2W2MoV in a wide range.Lognormal distribution is reasonable in the low cycle fatigue life range of disc materials studied.The two-parameter Weibull distribution used to be fatigue life distribution for domestic disc materials is preceded by hypothesis test.

    The fatigue behavior of nature-aged 2A12 alloy in air and vacuum at room temperature was investigated using a vacuum tension-compression fatigue testing machine.The effect of air and vacuum on the fatigue fractures was studied by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM).The results show that the fatigue life can be noticeably improved in vacuum than that in air,and the S-N curve shifts to the right in vacuum.Under lower cyclic stresses,the fatigue cycles to failure in vacuum is increased approximately 4 times than in air.Both the fractures in air and vacuum,in which fatigue striations,steps and dimples are observed and more areas with the dimples exist under lower cyclic stresses.In vacuum,the height of the steps is smaller,and the fatigue striations and dimples are finer. The reason for the effect of vacuum on the fatigue behavior of nature-aged 2A12 alloy was discussed.

    Lead zirconate titanate(PZT) nano-crystalline powder(Zr/Ti=52/48) was prepared by sol-gel method.Ethylene glycol was used as solvent,zirconium nitrate was used as zirconium source.The formation mechanisms of the sol and gel were discussed through analyzing the IR spectra of sol.The transition process from gel to PZT nano-crystalline powder was characterized by IR,TG-DTA,XRD,SEM and TEM.The results show that full perovskite PZT obtained after annealing at 650℃ for 2h,the particle size of PZT powder is about 50~100nm.

    Equal Channel Angular Pressing(ECAP) is a new processing procedure fabricating ultrafine grain material,whose basic principle is that sample is embedded into the bending passage which has the same cross-section shape.When sample goes through the bending passage under pressure function,it is subjected to a very intense plastic strain by pressing it through the bending location of passage,which makes material microstructure thin obviously.The development of ECAP,the influence of processing technology on grain refinement,the microstructures and performances ECAP ultrafine grain materials are introduced.
