    The characteristic parameters of high grade pipeline steels were investigated,and their effects on toughness were explored by means of mechanical testing and microstructural analysis as EBSD(Electron Backscattered Diffraction) and SEM. The results showed that the content of C,Mn and Cu had important effect on obdurability of pipeline steels,and the microstructural characteristic of X70 and X80 pipeline steels were dominative acicular ferrite,some granular bainite and a little of lower bainite;effective grain size,structural homogeneity and the content of bainite were most important parameters to the microstructure;with the decreasing of effective grain size,increasing of bainite content and structural homogeneity,high grade pipeline steels would get the excellent combination of toughness and strength.

    GUO Qiang, YAN Hong-ge, CHEN Zheng-hua, ZHANG Hui. Study on Softening Law of ZK60 Magnesium Alloy During Interval Between Hot Compression Deformations[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 2006, 0(8): 8-11.

    The static softening behavior during double-stage hot deformations of ZK60 magnesium alloy was studied by isothermal interrupted hot compression on Gleeble-1500 at temperatures of 200℃ and 300℃ and strain rates of 0.005s-1 and 0.05s-1,respectively.The interrupted deformations were conducted with delay times between 1s and 300s.The results showed that the main static softening mechanism of the samples was metadynamic recrystallization.The metadynamic recrystallization model of ZK60 has also been established with the activation energy of approximately 50.12kJ/mol,which was much smaller than that of dynamic recrystallization.

    LI Ping, WANG Han-gong, QIAO Sheng-ru. Influence of Parameters on Surface Roughness of Ti-Al Coatings Ultrasonic Arc Sprayed[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 2006, 0(8): 12-14,19.

    The dependence of the surface roughness(Ra) of Ti-Al composites coatings which were fabricated by ultrasonic arc spray equipments of model SAS-Ⅱ,commercial titanium and aluminum wires,on spraying parameters was studied by uniform experiment design method.The optimum spraying parameters were determined for minimum surface roughness of coatings.The results showed that the Ra of coatings increased with increased spraying voltage under a certain atomization conditions,as the spraying voltage was equal to 32V,Ra achieved maximum value,but afterwards,the Ra of coatings decreased with the increased spraying voltage;the Ra of coatings increased with increased spraying current;the Ra of coatings decreased with increased spraying distance,as the spraying distance reached to certain value,the Ra of coatings descended to the lowest point,henceforth Ra of coatings increased with increased spraying distance.The optimum ultrasonic arc spraying parameters were 20V,20A and 0.242m respectively for coatings with minimum Ra value.

    The heat conductive silicone rubber with vinyl endblocked polymethylsiloxane as basic gum and silicone nitride(Si3N4) of different particle sizes and silicon carbide whisker as fillers was prepared.The results showed that the silicone rubber incorporated with a mixture Si3N4 at a preferable mass ratio(exhibited) better thermal conductivity compared with the case where filler with a single particle size was used;the Hasselman model and the equivalent particle diameter concept were employed to investigate the thermal conductivity of composites.Furthermore,combined use of Si3N4 particles and SiC whisker gived composites with higher thermal conductivity compared with Si3N4 particle used alone at lower filler volume fraction.In addition,the thermal stability increased with increasing hybrid fillers content,while coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) decreased.

    The cold cracking sensibility of high tensile pipeline-steel was studied by Ygroove cracking test using seven kinds of high cellulose electrode of vertical down position welding.The cold cracking sensibility coefficient was calculated by theoretical formula,and the lowest preheat temperature was obtained to avoid cold crack by experimental results.The study offered experimental and theoretical foundation to high tensile pipeline-steel's construction and welding process,also offered reference to standard experimental method evaluating cold crack of high tensile pipeline-steel.

    ZHANG Dian, XU Yong-dong, ZHANG Li-tong, CHENG Lai-fei, MA Jun-qiang, CHEN Chao. Bonding Properties of Joining Si3N4/SiC Ceramic by SiC Adhesive[J]. Journal of Materials Engineering, 2006, 0(8): 23-27,32.

    A kind of adhesive,which was mainly composed of SiC,was used to join Si3N4/SiC ceramic presslessly.The results showed that the volume of the adhensive specimen is stable and have a little expansion when it was dried and sintered from room temperature to 1323K.The tensile strength was up to 1.76MPa when jointing at 1173K and holding 3 hours.The thermal shock residual strength remained 82% of its original strength.The joint zone was densified.The sintered adhesive and the parent material had similar microstructure and remarkable diffusion existed near the interface between them,which was beneficial to increase bonding strength and thermal shock resistance.

    The relationship of the microstructures and pitting corrosion property of simulated welding heat affected zone(HAZ) in 2205 duplex stainless steel was investigated using thermal simulator and pitting corrosion testing.The effects of cooling time on the pitting corrosion property of simulated HAZ were studied at the same time.The results showed that the cooling time had influences on the pitting corrosion property of the simulated HAZ,that the ferrite content decreased and precipitate of carbide and nitride in ferrite increases as increasing cooling time,that pitting corrosion rate and pitting corrosion area ratio were higher in simulated HAZ than in base metal and decreased with the increase of the cooling time,that the maximum pitting corrosion depth was lower in simulated HAZ than that in base metal and increases with the cooling time t8/5,and that the pitting corrosion property of the simulated HAZ was the same as base metal when the cooling time was about 100s.

    Steel/zinc laminated composites were fabricated by casting technique.Uniaxial tension and low cycle fatigue tests under different conditions were investigated. The results showed that the UTS(Ultimate Tensile Strength)of composites under tension decreased because of the fracture of zinc.Tensile speed had nearly no influence on the stress-strain curve of composites.The stresses at maximum strains of ±0.5%,±1.0% and±1.5% increased with increasing number of cycles,suggesting a cyclic hardening process.The phenomenon of cyclic hardening was more prominent with increasing cyclic strain.The stresses under tension and compression tended to stabilize with further cycling.

    In Haake torque rheometer,it was investigated that temperature,rotor speed,mixing time and the copolymer of styrene and maleic acid(SMA)-compatibiliser had effect on the percolation threshold value of co-continuous PA6/PS blend.The results showed that temperature,rotor speed and mixing time had little influence on the percolation threshold value;when compatibiliser(SMA) was added,the range of the region of phase co-continuity was largely narrowed because of the decreased possibility for recombination and coalescence.By the quiescent annealing of co-continuous PA6/PS,the blend morphology was examined at three different temperatures using SEM method.Co-continuous morphologies of 50/50(mass fraction/%)PA6/PS blend stayed co-continuous with annealing but showed an increase in phase size with time and the coarsening of the morphology was speeded at higher temperature.The interfacial area tends to decrease when the blend is kept at an elevated temperature,which results in an increase in the phase size of the co-continuous blend.

    The applications of nano-materials in fire resistive coatings for steel structures were studied.The effects of the dosage of nano-materials on the fire proofing time were investigated.The results showed that nano-SiO2 and nano-TiO2 could enhance the intensity of foamed cellar char.In addition,these materials could remarkably prolong the fire proofing time of the steel structure.When 1.5%(mass fraction)nano-SiO2 was used in these fire resistive coatings,110 minutes can be obtained.

    The microstructure and conductivity of conducting polypyrrole(PPy) film prepared on porous insulated Al2O3 layer substrate were improved using silane coupling agent,and the forming mechanism of self-assembled silane coupling agent layers and conducting PPy film also were discussed.The self-assembled silane layers could link firmly with Al2O3 layer surface after the substrate being modified by silane,subsequently a uniform and compact conducting PPy film was synthesized on the self-assembled layer by chemical polymerization.The results showed that silane coupling agents can increase the uniformity and the adhesion of PPy film with substrate efficiently,and the electric conductivity increases from 5.4S/cm to 16.6S/cm.

    Oil-soluble carbon black nanoparticles were synthesized by surface graft modification.SPM image and TEM photos showed that the particles were about 24nm to 300nm in size and dispersed uniformly in coatings.Nanocomposite coating was obtained by adding oil-soluble carbon black nanoparticles into paint in ultrasonic field.Anodic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) were employed to study the corrosion behavior of nanocomposite coating.The results showed that the anti-corrosion performance of composite coating in NaCl solution was improved.The comparison between the EIS with the immersion corrosion testing and anodic polarization was carried out.Good correlation results were obtained.It showed that electrochemical methods perfectly suited to the property evaluation of composite coating.

    F-scan ultrasonic imaging testing technology was introduced.An F-scan ultrasonic imaging auto-testing system for multi-layer composite materials was developed successfully.The feature parameters of defects could be extracted accurately with the system.The results could be displayed by various imaging modes(B,C,F and phase feature imaging).Defects could be identified by setting proper decision conditions.The ultrasonic computerized tomography was studied.Detailed appraisal of agglutination between layers and density of composite materials can be seen directly from the imaging.

    Fiber-reinforced composites were a new kind of structural material with high specific strength and high specific rigidity.It was very important to analyze and simulate the mesoscopic-mechanical behaviors of fiber-reinforced composites.The developments of the mesoscopic-mechanical models of the material were presented.Then the developments of the numerical simulations,based on finite element method and Monte Carlo method,of the mechanical behavior were reviewed.Finally,the development trends were prospected.

    The preparation,structure,properties and photocatalysis to volatile organic compounds of TiO2/ACF photocatalyst were reviewed.The effect of concentration,adsorption,photocatalysis and restoring of TiO2/ACF catalyst were analyzed,and mechanism of synthetical effect of activated carbon fibers and titanium dioxide were summarized.The adsorption and desorbtion of organic pollutants on TiO2/ACF photocatalyst were more efficient than pure TiO2 photocatalyst,which contributed to the high active TiO2/ACF photocatalyst.
