Abstract:The mechanical properties and fracture behavior of the hot-pressed Al2O3-TiC-Co advanced composites,which have been produced by use of Al2O3 and TiC powders chemically coated with cobalt on their surfaces,have been studied in this paper.The results show that the metal cobalt phase exists in matrix and that the presence of the metal cobalt phase dispersed in grain boundaries can effectly improve the mechanical properties of the pure Al2O3-TiC and affect its fracture behavior.
