Abstract：Kapok fiber/magnetic nanocomposites were prepared by in-situ composition using nature kapok fibers as matrix.The influences of pretreatment and maturing methods on composition efficiency were studied.The structure and magnetic properties were characterized by SEM,AFM,X-ray diffraction and superconducting quantum interference device(SQUID).Results showed that kapok fibers were suitable templates for the composition and magnetic particles were composited both on fibers' surface and the inner surface of the lumen.The iron oxide synthesized was mainly in the C phase of γ-Fe2O3 and its size was between 30-100nm.The kapok fibers/magnetic nano-composite prepared by maturing under a static magnetic field yields the highest mass fraction of Fe as 7.54%.SQUID showed that the kapok fiber/magnetic nano-composite was superparamagnetic.
